Friends of the Gardens

Without the friends of the gardens, Barooga and district would not have such a wonderful community asset that can be used and enjoyed by locals and those from further afield for now and far into the future.

Sponsors: Cobram Barooga Service Clubs, Local Businesses, Public Donations, Local Community.

Berrigan Shire:

The Berrigan Shire assists the committee in providing, the electricity for the gardens, maintaining the mowers and the accounts for repairs to the watering system, as well as assistance to tree maintenance as required. The committee is very appreciative of this help in creating these wonderful gardens.

A small committee of 10 under the keen direction of President Geoff Brentnall are responsible for the daily running, maintenance and future development of the gardens.

A group of volunteers are rostered to mow the lawns weekly. These volunteers are to be thanked for the wonderful job that is done in maintaining the lawns to such a high standards through the hottest times of summer and the coldest days of winter. Volunteers are called on at other times when extra hands are needed e.g. painting, garden maintenance. Without the volunteers of the gardens Barooga would not have such a wonderful asset to the community. New volunteers are always welcome if anybody wishes to be included on the volunteers list please feel free to contact the secretary or president.
